Greg Ramirez is a lifelong athlete and coach dedicated to building strength, mobility, and durability for athletes over 40.
Based in Las Vegas, he combines decades of experience in competitive sports, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and functional strength training to help others train smarter and stay in the game longer.
Greg’s training approach focuses on integrative movement and strength work — blending dynamic stretching, mobility drills, bodyweight training, and kettlebells — to create resilient bodies that perform well on and off the mat. His methods have carried him through hand and knee surgeries, multiple muscle injuries, and the wear-and-tear of more than 30 years in the service industry, 26 years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and his time as a Division I college football player.
In 2025, Greg earned his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under world champions Raquel and Renato Canuto. He is also certified by world-renowned fitness educators, including:
Fundamentals of Human Movement — Steve Maxwell
Kettlebell Level One — Steve Maxwell
Kettlebell Level Two — Steve Maxwell
Certified Functional Strength Coach — Mike Boyle
Before relocating to Las Vegas, Greg founded Gun Club Brooklyn, a movement studio known for its mix of camaraderie, playfulness, and serious training. Gun Club Brooklyn was featured in Ralph Lauren Magazine, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The New Jock, and Urban Outfitters, recognized as one of the most unique approaches to functional training in New York City.
Today, Greg continues that mission under his own name, offering programs like Mat Return BJJ and Lifting for Longevity, designed to help people build durable strength and stay active for life.
Greg’s mission is simple: to help others build durable strength for longevity, so they can keep training, competing, and living fully at every stage of life.
